A quote by Frederick Buechner describes the heart of this project: “The music of your life is subtle”. Grammy Award winning producer Will Ackerman says of Unveiled, "the music is filled with both soaring inspiration and a remarkable sense of peace." Guest artists include Will Ackerman (guitar), Philip Aaberg (keyboards), Eugene Friesen (cello), Tracy Silverman (violin), Jeff Oster (flugelhorn), Jill Haley (English horn), and Noah Wilding (vocals). 1 AWAKEN THE DAWN. Every sunrise ushers in a feeling of hope, a sensation of awakening with passion for a new day, a summons for gratitude in spite of my struggles. See Psalm 108:1-2. 2 TO AND FRO. When my journey has me searching for the next step, there is assurance in a strength much greater than my own that is always available to me by faith. See 2 Chronicles 16:9. 3. DISCOVERY. I want to stay alert during the seemingly routine, the day to day of life, because truth and beauty are often right there in front of me, awaiting a wondrous moment of discovery. See Luke 24. 4. DREAMS IN THE NIGHT. Sometimes anxious thoughts keep me from peaceful rest. Amid unsettling dreams in the night there are still whispers of optimism and expectation. See Job 4:12-17. 5. TAKEN BY CLOUD. There is a splendor and mystery inherent in the world as seen in a common cloud that reflects something much larger than me. This idea originated from an ancient scripture, “As they watched, he was taken up and disappeared in a cloud.” See Acts 1:9. 6. RIVERS OF LIGHT. Desirable and beneficial gifts from heaven are painted in this song as rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. See James 1:17. 7. UNVEILED. A “veil” is a covering of my heart that keeps me from understanding. When I turn to God the veil is taken away and I can more clearly see and reflect His goodness. See 2 Corinthians 3:18. 8. WELLSPRING. The heart is the source or wellspring of life. I envisioned myself hiking in a distant forest, coming upon an old well and quenching my thirst with its cool and refreshing water. I must renew my heart daily, not letting it become bitter or hardened. See Proverbs 4:23. 9. THE QUEST. I relish the notion that life is a story. Rather than a problem to solve, life is an adventure to live on an epic quest towards walking in step with its author. See Galatians 5:22-23 (The Message). 10. DISCOVERY (SOLO). I want to stay alert during the seemingly routine, the day to day of life, because truth and beauty are often right there in front of me, awaiting a wondrous moment of discovery. The solo version represents discoveries that come during quiet times alone with God. 11. AWAKEN THE DAWN (SOLO). Every sunrise ushers in a feeling of hope, a sensation of awakening with passion for a new day, a summons for gratitude in spite of my struggles. This song needed a solo version to express the simplicity and intimacy of encounters with God before dawn. 12.WILDFLOWERS. It is easy to become preoccupied with worrying about all kinds of things. Slowing down and pausing to look at wildflowers in bloom can put things in perspective. The guitar and vocals join in to remind me I am not alone. sensation of awakening with passion for a new day, a summons for gratitude in spite of my struggles.
